The Insider's Guide
About the Author

Justin Spizman, Esq. is an attorney and graduate of the prestigious Communications School at The University of Texas at Austin, he received a bachelor of science in communication studies with a minor in business foundations. He was a Dean's List student and served as Vice President of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternal organization. Always working to promote the University, he served on the Distinguished Speakers Community, a group comprised of collegiate students who brought industry-leading speakers such as Bill Clinton, Spike Lee, and Candice Bushnell to the University of Texas for speaking engagements.

After college, Spizman attended Georgia State University School of Law and graduated this past year and passed the Georgia Bar in February of 2007. During law school, Spizman was Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society at Georgia State University School of Law and has secured many well-known and accomplished agents and entertainment attorneys to speak. He was a member of Phi Delta Alpha Fraternal Organization and authored an independent study on drug testing in professional sports. Along with his scholastic endeavors, Spizman clerked for numerous criminal defense and entertainment attorneys and even served as a judicial clerk for a superior court judge.

While in law school, Spizman authored The Insider’s Guide to Your First Year of Law School: A Student-to-Student Handbook From a First Year Survivor. Even though Spizman was accepted to law school and survived “1Lship”, he realized there was so much more he wished he had known before his first year began. During the first year of law school, Spizman kept a journal of his experiences and interviewed other first year students and professors as well as leading attorneys to determine what first year students need to know to succeed. Collecting those lessons and insights became the core of this book. Spizman even got George H. Ross, Executive Vice President and Senior Counsel for the Trump Organization to write the foreword for his book.

Not only does Spizman have the know-how to produce a marketable and successful book, but he also has the experience and network to fully and efficiently discuss the first year of college and help students find success through his observations, lessons, and insights. Having finished both college and law school, Spizman fully understands the stress, frustration, and perpetual cloud following students through their academic journeys. Spizman now has a B.S. and a J.D. However, his journey didn’t come without numerous trials and lessons. This book will take those lessons and provide readers with a “how to guide” for the first year of college.

Before his academic journey ends, Spizman’s goals are to discuss exactly how it began—with his first year of college. He made it through his first year and his next goal is to become the student authority on surviving college and to become the tour guide for millions of incoming freshman.
