The Insider's Guide
Birth of an Insider

The birth of The Insider’s Guide series was no accident. As a pre-law student, I discovered there were few, if any, helpful "survival guides" on the market. After completing my college studies and being accepted to law school, I continued my search and realized how a straightforward and reader-friendly “survival guide” could have saved me endless effort and stress. I recognized the immediate need for a less complicated, more organized, and more reader-friendly book dedicated solely to the first year of law school. After completing my first year and documenting the issues first year law students face, I had the knowledge and experience to save incoming law students from the frustrations my class encountered. My case for whether or not to write a book was closed and the idea for The Insider’s Guide to Your First Year of Law School was born.

After successfully authoring a book about first year success in law school, I decided that my approach to first year success should not stop there. I truly felt I could offer a similar concept to an entirely new set of students. I quickly decided that the hardest part of any student’s life is the transition from one level of education to another. College to law school was an obvious example, but there is even a bigger transition that comes four years before that one, the transition from high school to college; from the comforts of a parents household to the uncertainties of dorm rooms, big campuses, and a new and unique concept of learning. The Insiders Guide to Your First Year of College: A Student-to-Student Handbook from a Freshman Survivor may be the prequel to my first book, but will still contain all of the helpful lessons, experiences, tools, and resources the original book did, but geared toward college freshman and the remarkable journey of growth and education they are about to begin.
