The U.S.-Kenya Strategic Partnership takes place from The result of the August 2018 visit between President Donald Trump and Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta, this G2G Dialogue marks the start of an effort to address counterterrorism collaboration, defense and security cooperation, greater accountability, and transparency, and economic cooperation. The economic cooperation pillar is aimed at advancing mutual prosperity between the U.S and Kenya, and builds on the United States–Kenya Trade and Investment Working Group, which is exploring ways to deepen trade ties including through a future bilateral trade framework. It also complements the establishment of direct flights between Nairobi and New York City. The U.S. Chamber will strategically engage the Kenya delegation’s economic pillar lead, Principal Secretary, Dr. Chris Kiptoo, on the margins of the bilateral strategic dialogue.
